Return of the Cheese

Neeb the champion of Cheeseadelphia 6

It has been more than a year since Cheeseadelphia returned to its home city of Philadelphia, so we’re upping the stakes beyond the $2,500 prize pool to take things to the next level.

Cheeseadelphia 9 will be the first chance for StarCraft players to begin earning National Championship Series points. NCS points help rank players on a national scale and will grant top-performing players the chance to earn discounted or free entry to later NCS events. They also provide high-performing players a chance to earn discounted lodging, a travel stipend, or discounted or free entry to the $15,000 Grand Finals that will be held at Localhost Arena in Denver, CO.

Cheeseadelphia 9 will also feature a change in format from previous Cheeseadelphia events. Players will compete in a brutal, fully open double elimination bracket. All of the action will be streamed live on the Cheeseadelphia Twitch channel.

Cheese-a-what?

Cheeseadelphia began back in 2015, in the city of brotherly love. We wanted to pay homage to our home city, and what better way than naming our event “The tournament of brotherly cheese”. Thus Cheeseadelphia was born!  Players had the chance to stake out a names for themselves at Cheeseadelphia  and at the first tournament then up-and-coming player: Bailey “Bails” Thomas claimed his first LAN Victory. What began at Localhost in Philly just kept going. Bails went on to cement himself as one of North America’s best players. Since that time Cheeseadelphia has grown exponentially, featuring world class champions like: Kelazhur, TURE, Suppy, JonSnow, MaSa, and Neeb.

Our most recent event,  2018 NSG Eastern Conference Championship crowned Joseph “Future” Stanish as the 2018 Cheeseadelphia champion.

A new Cheeseadelphia champion will be chosen in 2019, and this journey will continue from where it all began in 2015.
